OUR MISSION

To ensure students with Autism and other developmental and behavioral disorders build necessary academic, social, and adaptive skills.

OUR VISION

To create a safe space that will change how children with ASD live and learn.

OUR APPROACH

We see behaviors as communication and efforts to connect instead of an inconvenience or hindrance to the learning of others. By approaching the children with compassion and empathy and their behaviors with researched-based practices, students can learn to communicate, connect, and behave more appropriately in educational and social settings.   We are committed to providing the right challenges to help our students become confident about learning without feeling overwhelmed. In small group settings with individualized curriculum and continual growth monitoring, Appalachian Banner Academy is equipped to approach and modify maladaptive behaviors. We utilize Registered Behavior Technician training and collaborate with local Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and educators. This approach encourages positive behavior and skill acquisition.
