Appalachian Banner Academy sees behaviors as communication and efforts to connect instead of an inconvenience or hinderance to the learning of others.
By approaching the children with compassion and empathy, and their behaviors with researched based practices, students can learn to communicate, connect, and behave more appropriately in educational settings and in the
rest of their lives.
WHAT IS APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS?
When a behavior is followed by something that is valued (a reward), a person is more likely to repeat that behavior. Over time, this encourages positive behavior change. The goal of any ABA program is to help each person work on skills that will help them become more independent and successful in the short term as well as in the future.
